SUMMARY The Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on leader who plays a crucial role in managing a warehouses daily operations. This position oversees the warehouse team, ensures proper inventory management, manages shipping and receiving, and coordinates with other departments to ensure efficiency and productivity. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Directly supervise warehouse operations, including loading/unloading, shipping/receiving, sorting, putting away, picking, and inventory control Maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular physical counts and cycle count activity with warehouse teams and reconciling discrepancies with the warehouse inventory system Maintain schedule and adherence to schedule to meet yearly goals Lead root cause corrective action activities and track effectiveness of corrective actions for errors found in the cycle count process Administer the review and prioritization of finished goods through final inspection Coordinate the shipping and production priorities with line supervision, dictated by management and the MRP schedule backlog Monitor inventory and shipment transactions for accuracy, enforcing checks as needed to guarantee accuracy of shipments to customers Ensure inventory and storage areas are clean and well-maintained Enforce safety standards and adhere to standard operational procedures Authorize purchases for required supplies Responsible for the final close of work orders, remedy of negative committed quantities, scheduling outside processing materials, and equipment training and certification for assigned personnel Responsible for strategic initiatives to support SQDC improvement and problem-solving activities to resolve non-conformances Lead root cause and corrective action for errors found in area of responsibility and ensure corrective actions are sustainable and eliminate reoccurrence of root causes Monitor warehouse associates to ensure safety procedures are followed when operating forklifts, narrow aisle lifts, and other machinery Balance the warehouse teams schedules and workload to ensure priorities are established and addressed as appropriate for business needs Provide effective training, coaching, feedback, and encouragement to maintain an efficient and motivated workforce Lead by example, ensuring that all procedures and best practices are consistently followed Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias *Other duties as required in support of the department and the company* SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES Supervisory responsibilities involve overseeing and managing a team or individual to ensure adequate performance and job satisfaction and contribute to individuals career goals. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent required A bachelors or associates degree in Warehouse Inventory, Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, Technical, or a related field is preferred 5+ years of warehouse/supply chain-related experience required 3+ years of supervisory experience Experience with inventory control, inventory reconciliation, and cycle counting CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification or willingness to complete the APICS certification program (or equivalent) within two years of employment is preferred Possession of a valid drivers license and good driving record is desirable LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Conversational in any other language is a plus MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages JOB SKILLS Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and inventory management software Experience with ERP systems required; experience with SAP preferred Excellent knowledge of Traffic and Warehouse management and/or Scheduling/Resource Requirements Planning is preferred Experience and ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, re-spooler, and other warehouse equipment as needed Strong communication, interpersonal skills, leadership, and conflict resolution abilities Proficiency in modern warehousing practices and methods Continuous improvement, critical thinking, and proactive problem-solving approach Ability to work flexible/additional hours on short notice PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical requirements outlined below indicate those necessary to fulfill this positions core responsibilities. While performing job duties, the employee will regularly engage in activities such as using hands to finger, handle, or feel and communicating verbally. Additionally, the employee will frequently need to reach with hands and arms while standing and walking as part of the role. Occasional lifting and movement of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and using a ladder may be required. This position also demands specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a work environment where employees typically work inside a facility and perform various tasks related to storing, processing, and shipping goods and materials. Some of the everyday activities that a warehouse worker does are preparing and completing orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule, receiving and processing warehouse stock products, performing inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits, keeping a clean and safe working environment, and optimizing space utilization and operating and maintaining warehouse vehicles and equipment.
